Savel’s red dress
October 16, 2021 @ 4:00 pm - 5:30 pm

SAVEL’S RED DRESS / CYPRUS
Based on Marina’s Michaelidou Kadi award winning book
Within a day Savel left her home and everything else she loved and traveled to a distant land, on the other side of the earth. The only thing she could take with her was the red dress her grandmother had given her as a gift for her birthday. Savel can’t bear to be without it…
A story about refugee children, who forcibly leave their homes and the people they love to find themselves in foreign places. The story emphasizes that the journey does not end with the safe arrival of a child at his/her destination. Equally important is his/her integration and adaptation to the new environment; reception and treatment always play a significant role in this.
Theatro AntiLogos was founded in 2015 by a group of progressive artists with common views on life and theater. Its main goals are to build bridges with the public, to develop a theatrical language based on contemporary concerns, with the participation of Cypriot and foreign artists, and to undertake artistic initiatives at an international and local level, in order to expand its action in the field of performing arts, and especially theater. In addition, AntiLogos aims at the practical and scientific approach of art and acting, by organizing seminars, lectures and theatrical workshops. True to the goals of its establishment, Theatro AntiLogos proposes a repertoire that can gives hope and inspiration to contemporary man who strives to remain human, with the right to freedom of existence, thought, speech and expression, and dignity.
